According to Baltimore County Fire Department, a firefighter sustained minor injuries as he battled a Sunday morning fire at a Parkville commercial building.
A spokesperson for the fire department said that units responded to the fire at a commercial building in the 9300 Block of Harford Road around 6 am on Sunday. The responding units observed heavy fires near the rear end of the structure’s second floor. About 40 minutes after the initial dispatch, a second alarm was raised, requesting additional resources.
Fire department Captain Len Stewart said that units battled from outside the fire due to its heavy intensity and partially collapsed roof. Len Stewart is the spokesperson. Stewart stated that the commercial building located between Chenoak Avenue & Second Avenue had previously been purchased by property records for more than $351,000. Around 7:45 am, the fire had been brought under control.
A firefighter with minor injuries was transported to hospital. Stewart announced Sunday that the firefighter was released from hospital.
Stewart stated that the cause of this fire is being investigated. It caused damage estimated at $150,000.
The Towne Stripper was once located in the building, as well as a furniture repair service and barbershop. According to records, an LLC run by Emmanuel Hondroulis purchased the building in September. The properties were valued at $950,000 when combined with the building that houses an adjacent auto repair shop.
Hondroulis said “no comment” when asked about the fire by a local reporter on Sunday.
