There has been a long stretch of extreme heat in Phoenix, and some air conditioners aren’t up to the challenge. Unfortunately, a home warranty can’t guarantee a quick repair.5
Liz, a Let Joe Know viewer in Mesa, learned that lesson when her air conditioner failed.
Liz said, “My son and I both have MS, I have two grandchildren here, and I have animals.”.
Liz says she told the home warranty company, Old Republic Home Protection, about her concerns about her air conditioner when they moved into their Mesa home in 2022.
The company had someone look at the unit, but it stopped working in the Arizona heat.
“We don’t sleep at night. It’s hot.”
The temperature in Liz’s home is unbearable, climbing into the mid-90’s. She says their health and safety are at risk.
“The heat made the kids nauseous.”
She says the A/C coils were replaced after weeks of waiting, but the relief was short-lived since less than 24 hours later, the unit stopped working again.
My kids shouldn’t have to go through this, you know? I’ve been trying to hold on, I fight on the phone every day, I cry on the phone. What do I do?”
The family stocked up on Gatorade, covered the windows and skylights to keep the rooms dark, and purchased portable fans and A/C units.
Our team repeatedly contacted Old Republic Home Protection and the contractor working on the repair. We inquired about delays and reimbursement for portable air conditioners purchased by the family.
After weeks of phone calls, emails, and waiting, Liz notified us that their A/C had been fixed!
