Due to floods and trees falling, thousands of people are currently without power.
Overnight Storm Betty has swept the country, flooding some areas and blocking roads with debris and fallen trees.
According to ESB Networks, more than 70,000 homes, businesses and farms were left without power overnight by storm force winds. Over 40,000 had electricity restored to them by 5pm. That left another 30,000 homes without power Saturday.
The company that is responsible for Ireland’s electricity grid has stated that it’s possible some localized households may not have electricity access overnight.
Outages of power are most common in Kilkenny and Kilkenny County, as well as the counties of Dundalk, Portlaoise, Kilkenny, and southeast Ireland.
